Who you are

As a learner:r at IKEA Switzerland you are not alone on the road - you are part of a large learner community. Together you will experience how exciting and varied it is to work in an international company, to take on responsibility and to develop yourself further. Because during your apprenticeship, we show you step by step everything you need to be secure in your professional life after your apprenticeship and to achieve your own goals.

In logistics, you work behind the scenes and are still in the middle of the IKEA experience. You and your team make sure that our products are in the right place at the right time and that our shelves are filled with impeccable goods. In this way, you directly contribute to our customers finding what they are looking for and having a pleasant shopping experience.

You don't have to be able to do everything yet! It is important that you are curious, enjoy learning and feel like participating in IKEA.

In order to suit us well, you ideally bring the following

• You will find what is happening behind the scenes exciting and want to see how logistics really works – from delivery in the warehouse to the shelf in the store.
• You like to move, get involved and feel comfortable in an environment where things can happen quickly.
• You like to work in a team, for example in group work at school or in an association, but you can also do tasks independently.
• You are open, respectful and communicate honestly – also with people from different countries and cultures – and contribute to a positive mood in the team.
• You can imagine working in early or late shifts as well as on Saturday, safely using a computer or tablet, speak very good German and already understand a bit of English.

You are responsible for

• You will learn how to work with your team to ensure that our IKEA store and warehouse are always well filled – so that our customers find what they are looking for.
• You practice unloading trucks and getting the goods to the right place – to the warehouse or directly to the sales area so that everything is available quickly.
• You work with our computer systems: You learn to control and record stocks so that we know how much of which product is still there.
• You realize how important teamwork with other departments is – for example with sales or customer service – so that the path from purchasing goods to the shopping experience works well for our customers.
• You learn to work carefully and safely: you keep order, adhere to safety rules and help protect people, products and work equipment.

• the certificates of the last two school years – so we see whether you are ready for an EBA or EFZ (with or without BM). We want to be open and honest: Unexcused absences unsettle us whether you bring enough motivation for the rather strenuous vocational school. If you have absences, a short explanation in your application would help us to better understand your situation and assess your motivation.
• voluntary supplements such as trial reports or personal work/projects of which you are proud

Supplement

A letter of motivation is not mandatory for us. We are looking for people who are right for us and motivated to do their apprenticeship at IKEA. That’s why we invite shortlisted applicants to an afternoon at the IKEA store to get to know us and give you a first glimpse of how an apprenticeship at IKEA works. This makes it easier for us all to decide whether it suits well - you and us.

• the meeting afternoon will take place on 24.09.2026 from 13:00 – 16:00 in the furniture store Dietlikon.
