Our Global Clinical Operations team supports successful clinical trials across various Abbott businesses. We work closely with trial centers, study leaders and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality and compliance standards and to advance innovative therapies for patients worldwide.

The Clinical Site Lead (CSL) assumes operational responsibility for conducting clinical trials at associated trial centers. In this role, you are the central point of contact for study centers and ensure that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Abbott internal guidelines. In addition, you contribute significantly to the achievement of recruitment goals, data quality and study success.

ITS TASKS

• Self-responsible supervision and control of test centers within clinical trials
• Central contact person for internal and external stakeholders at the assigned study sites
• Identification, qualification and further development of suitable test centres and medical practitioners:
• Implementation and coordination of site start-up activities in collaboration with the site operations teams
• Ensure timely activation of test centres and achieve defined recruitment targets
• Development and implementation of site-specific strategies for patient promotion:internal recruitment
• Continuous evaluation of study performance and identification of potential for improvement
• Perform site initiation visits, monitoring visits and close-out visits
• Review of study data and source documentation for completeness, accuracy and quality
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, GCP guidelines and study protocols
• Support for audits, inspections and compliance activities
• Ensuring timely reporting of adverse events, product findings and protocol deviations
• Analysis and solution of study- or location-related challenges and initiation of appropriate corrective measures
• Training and regular refresher of study staff regarding study protocols and regulatory requirements
• Ensuring complete and proper study and site documentation
• Collaboration with Clinical Operations, Study Management and other internal stakeholders
