Our Chocolate & Flavor Creation business unit develops innovative machinery, equipment and automation solutions for the processing of cocoa, chocolate, coffee and nuts.
As a Technical Lead Automation Engineer PLC in our R&D team, you will take over the technical responsibility for demanding automation developments and accompany new technologies from the initial idea through validation to market introduction.

- You will design future-proof, modular PLC software architectures and develop reusable solutions with Siemens and Rockwell for our next generation of machines
Main responsibilities
- They assume technical responsibility for demanding automation developments and accompany new machines and plants from the first idea to the successful market launch.
- You will design future-proof, modular PLC software architectures and develop reusable solutions with Siemens and Rockwell for our next generation of machines
- They realize and document new functions for control, visualization, motion control and drive technology and integrate the results of risk analyses into the safety software according to DIN EN ISO 13849
- You plan and implement the verification and validation of new developments – with unit tests and digital twins as well as on prototypes, test facilities and selected customer assignments
- They analyze technological requirements and test results, derive innovative solutions and continuous improvements from them and work closely with design, product management, project management and other R&D specialist areas. Requirements
- Completed studies in automation, electrical engineering, system engineering, mechatronics or software engineering or a comparable technical education with corresponding further education
- In-depth experience in the development of complex PLC software for machines or plants as well as safe handling of Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell Automation Studio
- Experience in the design of modular and reusable software architectures as well as in-depth knowledge in safety PLC programming, visualization, motion control, drive and control technology
- Strong understanding of modern development and testing methods, as well as familiarity with industrial communications solutions and tools such as Git and Azure DevOps;
- Knowledge of unit tests, digital twins, structured text or other programming languages
