Mission

Contribute to the strategic development, visibility, and international influence of the Center for Worldwide Sustainable Construction (CWSC) by strengthening institutional partnerships, supporting transformative initiatives in the sustainable buildings and construction sector, and ensuring active engagement and representation of EPFL within leading global networks, alliances, and platforms.

Main responsibilities

  • Strategy, Institutional Partnerships & Global Engagement
  • Support the strategic development, institutional positioning, and external visibility of EPFL’s Center for Worldwide Sustainable Construction (CWSC), fostering collaboration across EPFL entities and advancing key initiatives such as LC3 and GBDI.
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships and multi-stakeholder engagement through the development of international programmes, notably the Affordable Housing in Africa initiative, and by reinforcing collaboration between CWSC, EPFL, and the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC).
  • Contribute to the design, coordination, and operationalisation of GlobalABC initiatives, including thematic hubs, roadmaps, and working groups, while promoting evidence-based and technology-neutral approaches to sustainable construction and infrastructure.
  • Represent EPFL/CWSC in international networks and policy platforms, support engagement with higher education institutions and global partners, and contribute to major international events such as COP31, Climate Week NYC, and the World Urban Forum.
  • Monitor global developments in sustainable buildings, infrastructure, and climate policy, providing strategic insights to inform institutional priorities and strengthen EPFL/CWSC’s influence within the global sustainable built environment agenda. Profile
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science (MSc) or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, climate, and built environment challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional report writing, proposals development, policy brief writing with an ability to tailor content for technical and non-technical audiences.
