Role overview

Tasks: They support all areas of responsibility of the Vice Rector Research and Innovation.

These include

• Preparation and follow-up of the documents for the meetings of the university management
• Preparation of proposals of the Vice Rectorate of Research and Innovation for the benefit of the university management
• Creation of a basis for decision-making
• Project management of strategically important, complex projects
• Collaboration in projects of the Central Division and the Vice Rectorate for Research and Innovation
• Participation in financial, accounting and financial controlling tasks You act as an important link and coordinator: between the Vice Rector Research and Innovation and the different departments of the Vice Rectorate.

In particular, they shall

• Maintaining the exchange of information between the areas of the Vice Rectorate and with the Vice Rector
• Organisation of meetings, retraits, conferences
• Preparation of specific orders for the areas of the Vice Rectorate
• Lateral management or co-management of individual areas or projects together with the vice-rector Requirements
• Higher education
• Affinity to finance and controlling topics in the university environment
• Leadership experience, possibly a CAS in academic leadership and management and/or Master in Public Administration/Managment
• Affinity for research topics, ideally research experience, e.g.

as part of a PhD

• Rapid comprehension and conceptual and networked thinking skills
• Very good communication and expression ability
• Independent working methods, impeccable reputation and discretion
• In-depth knowledge of the Swiss higher education landscape as well as the University of Bern and its structures or the willingness to acquire this knowledge
