The university neurorehabilitation service of the CHUV and the Institution of Lavigny is contesting a position of head of clinic or assistant head of clinic, at an activity rate of 50% to 100%, from November 1, 2026 or to be agreed. The Vaud University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, medical research and training. The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes services in neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation, the Leenaards Centre for Memory, the Centre for Neuroscience Research and the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalized management for patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from brain to muscle. Deployed at several sites, the Lavigny Institution consists of a neurological hospital providing stationary and outpatient services, two departments for adults with disabilities, with an intellectual disability with a physical problem, a specialized school and a workshop and vocational training sector respectively. The University Service of Interinstitutional Neurorehabilitation brings together the neurorehabilitation structures of the CHUV and the Institution of Lavigny, and belongs to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences of the CHUV. The SUN provides state-of-the-art care for neurorelated patients, with special expertise in cognition and behaviour, spasticity, neuromuscular diseases, and neurourology. The SUN covers the entire neurorehabilitation course, with an acute neurorehabilitation unit (2 beds for post-coma patients and a mobile team providing early neurorehabilitation management, a few days from the onset of neurological injury), two hospital units of post-acute neurorehabilitation (75 beds between Lavigny Hospital and CHUV), an outpatient and day hospital neurorehabilitation centre at CHUV, as well as research laboratories allowing SUN patients access to translational research and innovative treatment technologies and approaches. The SUN ensures close links with the Neurology, Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery and the Leenaards Centre for Memory in the DNC, optimizing the management of patients in need of neurorehabilitation. 250 people work in the area of the inter-institutional SUN. The SUN medical team is based on a single Head of Service at the CHUV and is composed of 5 executive doctors, specialists in neurology and/or physical medicine and rehabilitation, 8 head of clinic and 7 assistant doctors. • You supervise admissions, visits, evaluations and interdisciplinary colloquiums of patients hospitalized in neurorehabilitation at CHUV or Lavigny Hospital, as well as patients treated in day hospital neurorehabilitation at CHUV
• You are participating in specialized ambulatory consultations for neurorehabilitation at CHUV, particularly in the areas of cognitive neurorehabilitation, neuromuscular diseases and spasticity
• You supervise and coordinate the work of the Service's assistant doctors
• You ensure the interface and collaborate with all interdisciplinary teams contributing to the care and well-being of patients and their loved ones
• You tour the SUN pickets (nights and WE) on each site (CHUV, EMS Plein-Soleil in Lausanne, Lavigny)
• You participate in SUN and DNC training
• You are involved in research projects, particularly in neurotechnologies. Profile
• You have a federal degree in medicine or a degree judged and recognized as equivalent by the Mebeko
• You show interest in academic neurorehabilitation
• You demonstrate a sense of organisation and team support
• You have a good ability to quickly integrate into new teams, having good relational and interpersonal skills
• You have a sense of hospitality and listening, and show empathy. For the position of head of clinic:
• You have an FMH in neurology or physical medicine and rehabilitation (or a title deemed equivalent by the Mebeko) and you have a C1 level (DALF) in French (required.) For the position of Deputy Clinical Chief:
• You are in principle one year from your FMH title in neurology or physical medicine and rehabilitation (or from a title deemed equivalent by the Mebeko) and you have a B2 level (DELF) in French.
