Role overview
The Laboratory Specialist, Technical Operations designs and implements business experimental processes to enable product research and development.
Designs related integrated process and candidate / product team activities and directs technical and operational activities to ensure planned project outcomes, and enables portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.
Provides and contributes to project progression and reports, as required, to project or program committees for decision-making support.

- Under general supervision, responsible for a variety of routine and non-routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting.
- Duties may include routine reactions leading to chemical or biological synthesis of intermediates and compounds, researching technical literature, and evaluating processes.
- Bachelor's/Associate degree, or equivalent vocational or technical training
- Experience in biomedical research or a clinical laboratory
Main responsibilities
- Under general supervision, responsible for a variety of routine and non-routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting.
- Duties may include routine reactions leading to chemical or biological synthesis of intermediates and compounds, researching technical literature, and evaluating processes.
- Uses a variety of equipment requiring a high degree of skill acquired through on-the-job experience.
- Requires ability to set up and operate special equipment following manufacturer's instructions with limited supervision.
- Requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education
- Works under limited supervision for routine situations
- Provides assistance and training to lower level employees
- Problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand
Key requirements
- Bachelor's/Associate degree, or equivalent vocational or technical training
