Role overview
Attached to the Directorate of Veterinary Affairs and Inspectorate, the Galli-Valerio Institute (IGV) is a central role in the fight against epizootic diseases and in the epidemiological surveillance of animal diseases.
Its main tasks include the diagnosis of notifiable animal diseases, the conduct of analyses related to food safety, and diagnostic activities concerning other non-epizootic animal diseases.
As an official laboratory, it works closely with the cantonal and federal authorities, as well as veterinary professionals, to ensure a rigorous and responsive health watch in the face of emerging issues.

- Title of veterinary physician specialist FVH in a field of veterinary laboratory medicine or equivalent
- Certificate of official veterinarian capacity or firm commitment to follow the training and obtain the title in the course of the undertaking
- Professional practice in a 4-year veterinary analysis laboratory
- Specialization in one or more areas of laboratory veterinary medicine including anatomopathology, histology, bacteriology, parasitology, serology or molecular biology for 3 years Oral Master's in German and English
- Ability to federate, delegate with control and manage conflicts with diplomacy, while maintaining strong cohesion within the laboratory
- Ability to adopt a global vision, synthesize complex information and make determined decisions to steer activity towards excellence
- Excellent time and priority management in a dynamic environment, coupled with high self-control and effective stress management
