Attached to the Directorate of Veterinary Affairs and Inspectorate, the Galli-Valerio Institute (IGV) is a central role in the fight against epizootic diseases and in the epidemiological surveillance of animal diseases. Its main tasks include the diagnosis of notifiable animal diseases, the conduct of analyses related to food safety, and diagnostic activities concerning other non-epizootic animal diseases. As an official laboratory, it works closely with the cantonal and federal authorities, as well as veterinary professionals, to ensure rigorous and responsive health monitoring of emerging issues. By joining the Galli-Valerio Institute, the laboratory manager will integrate a team engaged in an essential public service approach, where scientific rigour meets the collective utility. It will contribute actively to the proper functioning of this structure by supervising the technical and logistical activities that support our monitoring and prevention missions.
- Define and deploy the laboratory's operational strategy in alignment with the Directorate, while piloting performance through indicator analysis, development of internal synergies, management of external partnerships and the ongoing proposal for improvement.
- Ensure medical validation and conduct anatomological and forensic analyses, while advising clients and authorities, ensuring scientific and regulatory evolution of methods, and overseeing the pricing of services
- Pilot the quality management system (ISO 17025) and methodological innovation by ensuring normative compliance, mastery of IT tools, resolution of non-conformities and continuous improvement of performance through monitoring of indicators and training.

- Diploma in Veterinary Medicine with Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
- Title of veterinary physician specialist FVH in a field of veterinary laboratory medicine or equivalent
- Official veterinarian's certificate or firm commitment to follow the training and obtain the title in the course of the undertaking
- Professional practice in a 4-year veterinary analysis laboratory
- Specialization in one or more areas of laboratory veterinary medicine including anatomopathology, histology, bacteriology, parasitology, serology or molecular biology for 3 years
- Oral Master's in German and English
- Ability to federate, delegate with control and manage conflicts with diplomacy, while maintaining strong cohesion within the laboratory
- Ability to adopt a global vision, synthesize complex information and make determined decisions to direct activity towards excellence
- Excellent time and priority management in a dynamic environment, coupled with high self-control and effective stress management
- Strong sense of customer service and collaboration with external partners
