Mission
The Operations department manages and operates the real estate infrastructure and services to EPFL users. It is composed of about 75 employees active in CVSE-MCR-Supervisions, Maintenance Buildings and Stewardship techniques.
Main tasks and responsibilities
The Head of the Supervision and Security Group will have the task of exploiting the Supervisory and Hypervision solutions as well as the related infrastructures, for the technical and security fields of the various campuses. Your duties and responsibilities as Head of the Supervision and Security Group will be:
- Actively participate in projects for the creation and evolution of technical and security supervisions as expert and professional reference for EPFL
- Lead and administer employees of the Supervision and Security Group in order to maintain a high level of competence
- Integrate, modify and control data (alarms, variables, views, ...) in supervisory tools according to design guidelines and standards
- Ensuring data quality, tool availability and safe operation of technical and safety supervisions
- Monitoring of software operation (disturbances and maintenance) and IT infrastructure associated with supervisory solutions, managing the actions of internal and/or external providers
- To guarantee the management of equipment, maintenance contracts and documentation of its field in the GMAO tool
- Provide training and technical support for its field to EPFL users and colleagues, as well as external representatives
- Participate in collaboration with the internal and/or external project leaders in the studies, implementation and commissioning of the new facilities integrated into the supervisions, on the various EPFL campuses
- Evaluate, propose, study, plan and conduct oversight improvement projects, based on needs and requests
- Participate as a professional expert in product selection (software and equipment) and technical solutions related to the field
- Collaborate in studies to optimize the operation of HVAC facilities to achieve better energy efficiency
- Maintain a technological watch to ensure that the supervisory tools follow the evolution of the technique and comply with existing directives
- Plan and provide 24/7 technical picket service in its area of competence
Profile
- HES engineer or ES technician training in electricity, computer science, automation, or equivalent training
- Confirmed experience in the integration and operation of technical and/or safety supervision (SCADA)
- Knowledge of supervision Desigo CC and Niagara an asset
- Very good knowledge in Building Automation, Smart Building, mastery of the components of these systems, field communication architectures and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, among others)
- Good knowledge of safety infrastructure such as fire detection, access control, CCTV
- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure (virtualization, security, containerization, etc.)
- Knowledge of the operation of databases (SQL, OPC, etc.) and REST APIs
- Confirmed competence to plan (roadmap, life cycle, resources, etc.), analyze and write
- Confirmed ability to manage technical teams
- You are rigorous, autonomous and have a common sense of communication, able to collaborate effectively in a cross-cutting way with multidisciplinary teams
- Open mind, listening and proposal power, you will know how to advance projects with relevance and creativity
- Good mastery of French, English level B2
- Be in possession of the driving licence category B
- Live up to 45 minutes by car from the site of Ecublens
- Possibility of providing a 24/7 technical picket service in its area of expertise according to a turnkey
