Introduction

Located on the Lausanne campus, within the Rolex Learning Center, the EPFL Library is a key partner of the university community. The Library is a centre of expertise and expertise in scientific information, serving EPFL's teaching and research missions.

The Training Team (5 people) develops and offers a range of training for student and research communities at EPFL. It supports the development of informational skills throughout the academic career. It is thus involved in raising awareness of the management/production of scientific information in relation to open science issues.

To strengthen the team, we are looking for a committed and dynamic person, ready to bring his experience to the university community. In this way, you will contribute to strengthening the information, data and AI literacy skills of the EPFL community.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Development, organization and facilitation of training

• To meet the needs of the EPFL community, in the areas of library expertise such as Information, Data and AI literacy
• Throughout the academic career, from Bachelor level to doctoral school
• Present or online, individually or in whole classes
• In close collaboration with library or EPFL specialists
• Creation of training in various formats and typologies (workshop, guide and tutorials, online courses, etc.) to meet the needs of a young and demanding audience.
• Support for library staff on pedagogy, organization and logistics in their training activities
• Collaboration with EPFL's internal and external partners to ensure and develop a quality training offer
• Participation in the reception of library users (information desk, approx. 2 hours/week)

Your assets to succeed in this position

• You have significant experience in academic or equivalent library training
• You have extensive knowledge of Information Literacy (technologies and tools)
• You are aware of the stakes and impact on the Open Science academy community on the production of scientific information (information search, licenses, etc.)
• You have an excellent understanding of pedagogical and learning approaches
• You have in-depth knowledge of AI, its issues and the impact on information skills
• You have basic knowledge of scientific communication and research data management.

Profile

• Academic library experience and understanding its evolving environment
• Training experience, based on a common practice of new learning modalities and technologies.
• Evidence of good information management practices (including reference management software and good practice)
• Proactivity, openness and a high sense of service
• Ability to transmit knowledge to various academic audiences
• Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities, curiosity and desire to learn
• Excellent personal organization, ability to work independently and as a team
• Current practice in French and good knowledge of English (min. level B2)

Your level of training

• Diploma in Information Sciences (HES, University) or equivalent, with experience in academic library.

• University title, complemented by proven library experience
