In your capacity as a French teacher at the Etablissements de la plaine de l'Orbe (EPO), you provide individual, collective and adapted teaching that allows inmates to acquire a good level of French. You assess the level of start-up and progress of people in training by valuing their participation, their involvement and the quality of their work. You organise your teaching by ensuring the differentiation of teaching practices in order to make the training accessible to all learners, regardless of their abilities or background. You identify any learning difficulties and ensure the transmission of relevant information to the EPO stakeholders concerned in order to ensure appropriate support. Finally, you ensure that the institutional framework is respected and that the security measures in force within the institution are applied. • To provide individual, collective and adapted teaching that enables everyone to acquire the basics or to improve in the practice of the French language.
• Evaluate the basic level, as well as the progression of prisoners registered for the activity by valuing participation, application and work.
• Organize your teaching by ensuring the differentiation of teaching practices to make training accessible to all prisoners participating in the activity.
• Identify potential learning difficulties and pass them on to relevant EPO stakeholders.
• Explain the expectations of the course and monitor its teaching.

• Diploma in French as a foreign language or equivalent in the discipline of expertise.
• ESFA certificate – adult trainer, an asset.
• Ability to manage individuals in a closed environment individually and as part of a group.
• Practical experience of at least 4 years in teaching French to an adult audience. Our terms and conditions of employment require you to be a Swiss citizen or holder of a licence C, free of a deed of default of property (an extract from the Office of Prosecutions must be presented during the process), and your criminal record must be blank. There is a right to consult the criminal record under the Federal Criminal Records Act by the engagement authority for this function.
