Mission

The École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is a leading institution offering a dynamic and multicultural research and teaching environment.

Within the Institute of Physics (IPHYS, Faculty of Basic Sciences), we develop advanced electronic systems to support ambitious research projects for IPHYS laboratories ranging from scientific instrumentation within laboratories, to the realization or participation in instruments for international research infrastructures.

Main responsibilities

  • Main tasks and responsibilities
  • As an Electronician Team Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for managing hardware design activities and coordinating the technical team of the IPHYS electronic service. Your main tasks are: Prototyping of Electronic Cards, Firmware and
  • Software: Making prototypes of electronic cards, including not only hardware design, but also the development of firmware (microcontrollers) and associated software (pilots, control and data acquisition interfaces).
  • Follow and test production maps.
  • Management and Leadership: To mentor, motivate and supervise a team of electronic engineers and technicians.
  • Plan the workload and support the development of employees' skills.
  • Project Management and Design: Pilot projects to design complex electronic systems (analog, digital and mixed), from the specification phase to prototyping, testing and deployment.
  • Research Support: Work closely with researchers, doctoral students and professors to translate their experimental needs into robust and innovative electronic solutions.
  • Infrastructure and Operations Management: Maintain and upgrade equipment, manage relationships with suppliers and ensure compliance with safety standards (HSE). Profile
