- You are entitled to a residence permit valid in Switzerland , type B, C or L , or a Swiss identity card at the time of application
- You have held a category B driving licence for at least 3 years
- You have not had a licence withdrawal in the last 2 years; this period shall be extended to 5 years for any withdrawal exceeding 3 months You have no criminal record
