The Riviera-Chablais Hospital, Vaud-Valais (HRC), is a human-sized intercantonal hospital. Today, there are about 2500 workers working every day for the health of a population of about 200,000. The Rennaz site, inaugurated in late 2019, has more than 300 acute care beds. It is complemented by two geriatric and rehabilitation clinics and two medical clinics in Monthey and Vevey.

In an establishment of this size, where modern infrastructure is already in place, the challenge is no longer to build walls, but to increase medical ambition through a governance based on collegiality among all trades. We seek the personality that will continue to transform this potential into a distinctive care offering, able to anticipate the future needs of the population and strengthen the clinical attractiveness of the institution.

To replace the current incumbent who will retire in September 2027, we are looking for the future.

Medical Director or Medical Director at 80%-100%

The main tasks of this post are

As a member of the Executive Committee, you represent the medical function of the hospital and you are responsible for its organization. In close exchange with the Chief Medical Officer and in collaboration with the Directorate of Care, you develop the clinical policy and translate it into an organization with meaning and efficiency.

You play a central role in the evolution of the medical offer of the institution. By relying on the medical profession, you have the unique opportunity to develop new practices, structure training and pilot clinical innovation in a modern and receptive environment. The HRC needs a strong, present and incarnate medical leadership capable of defending ambitious medical projects. Your commitment will also be instrumental in forging alliances with institutional partners and bringing the HRC to the heart of the Romaned health network, ensuring the fluidity of the journeys and the excellence of the care offer.

We ask

We are looking for an open, laid and integrative personality, a doctor who knows how to combine strategic vision and humanity. An experienced clinician, you have a confirmed experience at the head of a service and are curious about disciplines other than yours. Moreover, you know very well the stationary and outpatient areas. You have completed your course with management training or you have a strong commitment to it.

Your journey demonstrates a proven ability to listen, negotiate and translate multiple expectations into structured participatory processes.

Your personality is distinguished by an uncompromising diplomacy and benevolent assertivity, allowing you to unite the teams around a common project where the patient experience and the development of the collaborators remain the constant compass of each decision.
