As part of the implementation of the future prison waiting zone (CAZ), the Vaudian Prison Service is seeking a Deputy Director to contribute actively to its establishment and to ensure its operational conduct. This function offers you the opportunity to participate in the construction of a new organisation, which will play an essential role in the criminal chain and the cantonal security system. In close cooperation with the Directorate of Service Security, you ensure the organization and coordination of activities, the management of human, administrative and financial resources, and supervision of the care of detainees. You also play a central role in collaborations with the authorities of the criminal chain, the police, the penal institutions and the various partners essential to the proper functioning of the structure. • Contribute to the commissioning of the Prison Waiting Area (CBA) and then ensure its organization, coordination and conduct of activities, as well as the operational continuity of the structure.
• Pilot human, administrative and financial resources, supervise employees and ensure compliance with the legal, regulatory and institutional framework.
• Ensure security, conditions of detention and management of special situations, including discipline, transfers and placement in appropriate institutions.
• Ensure collaboration with the various internal or external partners (the authorities of the criminal chain, the police, prisons, etc.).

• University degree or higher education deemed useful for the function.
• Further training in management or proven experience in personnel management.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the prison field, in an institutional setting or in a public or para-public entity.
• Ability to support change and contribute to building a new organisation.
• Interest in the care of a male prison population in pretrial detention.
• Dynamism, initiative and ability to cope with unforeseen events.
• Spirit of analysis, rigor and orientation solutions.
• Ability to federate, coordinate and network with different partners. Our terms and conditions of employment require you to be a Swiss citizen or holder of a licence C, free of a deed of default of property (an extract from the Office of Prosecutions must be presented during the process) and your criminal record must be blank. There is a right to consult the criminal record under the Federal Criminal Records Act by the engagement authority for this function.
