• Development and improvement of innovative inoculation protocols for ToBRFV to accurately replicate production conditions and identify tolerance differences between different tomato genotypes
• Integrated approach for infection quantification, sampling strategy, viral load analysis and methodological validation for highly resistant or partially resistant varieties
• Evaluation of the robustness of resistance under heat stress by studying the effects of heat waves on the stability of defense mechanisms, infection pathways and interaction dynamics of plant virus
• Assignment of phenotype, physiology and molecular markers to determine the determinants of plant resilience and to generate practical knowledge for breeding and sectoral recommendations
• PhD in the field of plant-pathogen interactions with in-depth knowledge of plant physiology, or PhD in the field of plant physiology with in-depth knowledge of plant-pathogen interactions
• Sound knowledge of molecular techniques and plant molecular biology
• Experience in transcriptomics/bioinformatics is beneficial
• You are proactive, self-employed and engaged
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of two official languages and English
