Founded in Lausanne in 1843, the Asylum Foundation of the Blind includes the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital, a university department of ophthalmology, a research centre, the Centre pédagogique pour écoles handicapées de la vue (CPHV), the social service, rehabilitation and low vision and the medical-social establishment Clair-Soleil.
More than 650 employees work every day in the service of visual health to offer diagnostic, treatment and accompaniment services to people with vision.
