Planning and responsibility for the apricot breeding programme (operational planning and implementation of the apricot breeding programme, independent development of the methodology for agronomic testing of apricots according to the latest scientific and practical knowledge Ensure cooperation with national and international partners and coordination of experimental network) Research with a focus on apricot breeding (development of new genetic and phenotypic breeding tools in cooperation with Agroscope internal research groups, as well as other national and international partners, implementation and application of modern molecular biology and digital breeding)
- Support of breeding activities in the apple and pear programme
- Acquisition and processing of third-party funded projects
- Knowledge transfer (writing of scientific and practice-oriented publications and conference contributions, organisation of conferences, scientific and technical excursions)
- Data management of apricot breeding to ensure traceability of collection and analysis data over the entire breeding cycle and beyond
- Uni / ETH / FH degree (MSc) in agricultural sciences, biology or a comparable field of expertise
- Enthusiasm for practical field work and experimental support, physically resilient
- High degree of independence, creativity, decision-making and implementation capability
- Team-capable communicative and performance-oriented personality
- Very good knowledge of MS Office, statistics and database applications
- Knowledge of two official languages and English
