A chief or chief of the management and control unit of the cantonal police headquarters in Sion

Your tasks

• You lead the management and control unit and coordinate its action with the other units of the cantonal police You support and advise the Commander and the staff officers in the areas of unit activity You replace the Commander in his absence for the administrative management of the cantonal police You are in charge of project management and strategic files of the cantonal police You are responsible for the financial management of the cantonal police and guarantee in particular the preparation of budgets, accounts and the proper keeping of accounts You ensure the control of the cantonal police You are in charge of the supervision and implementation of the financial and legal aspects of the major projects of the cantonal police and the important acquisitions You monitor files related to the Department's staff, central services and other state services You are responsible for responding to federal and cantonal consultations and parliamentary files You draw up service orders, internal directives, draft decisions at the level of the Commander, the Head of Department, the Council of State and the Grand Council. You ensure contacts with the authorities, the cantonal administration services and intercantonal organizations in the areas of unit activities and participate in working groups and commissions. You work as a duty officer and are able to lead police operations

Your profile

• Police officer training or tertiary training deemed equivalent Very good knowledge of security, judicial, police and state structures Very good knowledge of the operation of a police force and its various professions Higher training and/or strong experience in the fields of law and finance Several years of experience in the conduct of personnel and in the strategic management of an entity Demonstrated managerial skills Leadership, skills and ease in communication, negotiation and conflict management in a solution-oriented approach and collaboration Ability to collaborate and work in the staff Ability to manage crises and conduct police operations Great ability to adapt and very good resistance to stress and a significant workload Summary and editorial convenience
• French or German mother tongue with good written and oral knowledge of the second official language
