Who you are

WHO ARE YOU As an apprentice at IKEA Switzerland, you are not on your own: you are part of a large apprenticeship community. Together, you experience a rich and varied experience in an international environment, learn to take responsibility and develop. [ During your apprenticeship, we show you step by step everything you need to be confident in working life and achieve your goals.

In the sale, you are at the heart of the action: you help our customers to find what suits them for their interior – with kindness, honesty and professionalism. You like to go to others and offer them an IKEA experience that they will gladly remember.

You don't need to know everything already! What matters is your curiosity, your desire to learn and get involved at IKEA.

For us to be made to hear us, you are ideally bringing

• You like to be in contact with other people and you feel comfortable talking to them.
• You are interested in housing, furniture and interior design – for example, you like decorating your room or testing your own ideas
• You can listen and try to understand the needs of others, for example when asked for advice
• You like working as a team, but you also know how to be autonomous.
• You are pretty well organized and manage school, homework and leisure
• You're comfortable with a computer or tablet, you're very good at French and you have basics in English.

Your responsibilities

• You learn to create, with your team, a unique IKEA experience, in which our clients feel good and want to come back
• You practice actively advising customers: you present products, explain planning ideas and make our services (delivery, assembly, etc.) simple and understandable
• You discover how your way of advising contributes to the satisfaction of customers, who leave with new ideas for their interior
• You learn how to keep your sales space orderly and attractive: fill the shelves, highlight the products and ensure a neat presentation
• You collaborate with different services, for example with interior design, to develop new ideas and solutions

We are the ones who welcome customers in the store, online, catalogue, etc. We know the range of IKEA products, local markets and customer needs, and we constantly find new ways to establish real links with our customers to maximize sales and profitability. We, all employees around the world, form a diverse team working together to ensure the continued overall success of the IKEA concept – a concept that helps millions of customers improve their daily lives!

Additional information

The cover letter is not mandatory for us. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to spend an afternoon in an IKEA store to get to know and discover practical learning. It helps us and you see if we're meant to work together.

*The morning discovery will take place on October 30 from 9am to 12pm at the IKEA Riddes store.
