In addition to emergency and crisis centres, a comprehensive clarification, therapy and counselling service is available through the clinics for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics and through the children and youth ofpsychiatrie.
The treatment is tailored to the individual needs of patients and is performed outpatiently, day-to-day or hospitalized.
The Psychiatric Services also cover the Forensic Psychiatry in the Canton.
The Psychiatric Services are teaching and research hospital of the University of Basel.
