Risk & Control Officer (12 months)
Role overview
Mission The function is dedicated to a transversal project related to risk and control activities, co-sponsored by the Group Head of Risk Management and by the Group Head of Compliance. You will be a member of the project to support its deployment, in cooperation with Group Compliance, QA and Group Risk Management. Group Risk Management (“GRM”) - as 2nd line of defence, deploys methodologies dedicated for example to risk and control assessments, incident managements as well as daily support to Business via four teams located in Geneva, dedicated to Treasury & Trading, Wealth Management, Asset Management and Operational risk in general. Teams also perform the oversight of the Bank’s activities across divisions, considering the Group risk appetite, current and emerging risk exposure. Quality Assurance (“QA”) - Ensure the quality of the Bank’s Internal Control System (ICS) and the respect / proper execution of of the group Control Framework. Conducting investigations in relation to procedural and control issues and leading associated remediation activity. Group Compliance - as 2nd line of defence - ensure that the Bank conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, and to manage the risk of legal or regulatory sanctions, financial loss, or loss to reputation the Bank may suffer as a result of failing to comply with such laws, regulations, and policies.
Main responsibilities Support 2nd line of defence and Divisions incl. Corporate Functions as 1st line of defence by: Leading or participating to regular or dedicated risk and control assessments with Bank’s 1st line of defence, in line with risk and control methodologies defined by GRM and Group Compliance. Performing control testing activities with GRM, Group Compliance and with Quality Assurance teams, from control deployment to control results presentation and action plan follow-up. Monitoring the implementation of remediation plans to address identified gaps. Updating directives and procedures applicable to risk and control assessment, suggest/participate to communication plan and training plan, when applicable. Participating to regular reporting to be dispatched and/or presented internally as well as to the Regulator.
Your Profile Risk management, Internal Control, Audit and/or Compliance background expected. A minimum of 3-4 years' experience required in the above activities. Strong analytical skills to assess risks and controls, and propose effective mitigation strategies. Strong understanding of business processes and rules and regulations of the financial sector, preferably within Private Banking; Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines; Strong communication skills; Interest for project management; Solution-oriented attitude and ready to onboard tasks for proof-of-concepts; Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team cohesion and communication; Capacity to manage and accompany change; Excellent French and English.
