• Conduct research within the framework of the "NoctuVir" project on the use of entomopathogenic baculoviruses against nottue • Develop and test existing or innovative formulations to improve the application and effectiveness of baculovirus • Identifying and characterizing new baculoviruses of interest, with particular attention to their molecular characterization (genoma, diversity, genetic signatures related to virulence and host) and biological (virulence, infection kinetics, host range, mortality parameters) using laboratory diagnostics, microscopy and high performance sequencing • Conduct tunnel experiments and assess the effectiveness of viral solutions in an operating environment • Working closely with project partners (industry, research institutes, fruit and vegetable sector) and contributing to the development of sustainable control strategies • Publishing results in international journals, presenting them at conferences, contributing to internal and external projects and promoting them with industry professionals • Knowledge and experience of baculovirus and/or entomopathogenic viruses • PhD and/or equivalent research experience in entomology, virology and plant protection • Experience in insect breeding, biological testing and handling biocontrol agents; specific experience with baculovirus, molecular characterization of viruses and/or formulations are preferential title • Good knowledge of molecular biology, ideally integrated by a high-performance sequencing experience • Good skills in experimental design (laboratory, tunnel/open field) • Good knowledge of two official languages and English
