PB Support Specialist Americas Geneva
Role overview
The role bridges business needs with regulatory standards and ensures the smooth execution of regulatory, compliance, and operational processes for activities in the Americas region.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for the output of the PB Support work area within the discipline, with a focus on implementing and executing strategies and ensuring alignment with Swiss standards and regulatory expectations
- Support the Client Relationship Officers in proactively identifying, managing and mitigating risks arising from day-to-day business activities, applying advanced professional expertise and conceptual thinking to complex cases
- Perform due diligence on prospective and existing client relationships, ensuring a consistent approach and applying frameworks, processes, and routines aligned with regulatory expectations in a timely and qualitative manner
- Approve funds and securities transfers, credit granting, overrides and transactions involving sanctions sensitivity, within delegated authority, ensuring decisions reflect the standards and specifications applicable to the business
- Distribute market knowledge and best practices among Client Relationship Officers, Client Service Officers and Account Managers, defining and embedding standard around which others will operate
- Ensure timely completion and remediation of pending follow-ups relating to client lifecycle activities, being accountable for delivery of assigned processes/programmes impacting the department
- Approve clients and business introducers new accounts, oversee KYC lifecycle and periodic reviews within the authority delegated by HoPB, ensuring oversight and compliance standards are met through in-depth professional expertise
- Act as a key senior partner to Front Office and control Functions and as a key link between FLOD and SLOD, ensuring consistent communication and escalation paths, and networking with key contacts across multipe levels and teams internally and externally
- Review account openings, CIP modifications and periodic reviews for the local PBS teams across the Region, while providing guidance to strengthen their understanding of requirements and control standards. Through continuous support and best practice sharing, provide guidance to more junior members of the team and help develop the capability to perform these reviews independently.
Key requirements
- Lead medium-sized projects/BAU assignments to improve control standards documentation quality checks and risk mitigation measures
- Provide guidance and deliver presentation sessions to Front Office teams on risk topics, control obligations and regulatory expectations, frequently advising on complex matters related to the area of expertise
- Conduct risk assessment, control checks and thematic reviews assigned by Senior Management (Line Manager, HOPB & RBH), applying judgement and innovation where issues may be unclearly defined
- Prepare and present high-risk and sensitive cases on behalf of HoPB to CAC committee
- Resolve audit issues by coordinating with stakeholders to implement corrective actions, being accountable for the delivery of remediation plans impacting the department and the business unit
- Support the local PBS team in enhancing their operational processes, providing guidance on control requirements, workflow improvements, and risk-mitigation measures, including developing solutions and frameworks with a longer-term view, to ensure alignment with Swiss standards<br>
