What we offer you. As a train driver you make a difference. At SBB Passenger Traffic you accompany around 482 million travelers every year. After completing your second 18-month paid training, your job will take you along the most beautiful railway routes in Switzerland. This way you bring our passengers to their destination on time and contribute to a positive travel experience with SBB. The training takes place in Italian at the Bellinzona training center. After basic training, deepen your skills for three months on the routes in your current area. Next, your new area of employment in Central Switzerland awaits you with locations in Lucerne, Arth-Goldau or Zug. This is why you are available to move to this region. Your everyday working life also offers many perspectives with attractive framework conditions for all life situations. Night and weekend work is paid with supplements, for example 16 francs per hour for Sunday work. For night jobs there are time supplements of between 10 and 30 percent. This means that you have more free time than employees without night or weekend jobs. Furthermore, after training as a train driver you can agree on an individual employment rate starting from 60 percent and various part-time work models are available. What you can put in motion. - As a train driver you not only drive the train, you also take responsibility for safety and punctuality on the busy railway network.
- During the race, keep your attention high and react quickly and correctly to signs, speed limitations and unpredictable events.
- You act autonomously and are in constant contact with the operational centers and command centers.
- In addition to driving and maneuvering the trains, your tasks also include checking the technical condition of the vehicle before and after taking delivery. Find out more about the profession at the next information event. What you take with you.
- You have completed a three-year apprenticeship or high school diploma. Your motivation matters more to us than the industry you come from.

- You have an excellent command of Italian at C2 level and good knowledge of German at B1 level.
- You have an intact color sense without red-green color blindness and you have no entries in the criminal record or the execution register.
