As head of the IVF/Andrology laboratory, you will assume responsibility for a central area of the Clinic for Reproductive Endocrinology and the University Desire Center. Together with your team of around eight employees, They make a significant contribution to the clinical care of our patients and to the innovative further development of the laboratory at the highest level.The University Hospital Zurich is one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland. Our more than 8,600 employees and around 700 trainees work every day for the well-being of our patients. Tasks: Head of the IVF and Andrology Laboratory with professional and operational responsibility. Ensure the highest quality and safety standards in laboratory operations. Perform all relevant embryological procedures, such as: • Egg search (oocyte identification) • IVF and ICSI treatments • Cultivation of gametes, prenuclear stages and embryos • Embryo transfers • Embryo biopsies for PGT • Cryopreservation and thawing of gametes, embryos and gonad tissue • Sperm analysis and sperm processing Management and management tasks • Technical and personnel management of the laboratory team • Personnel planning and promotion and development of employees • Responsibility for workflows, resource planning and capacity management • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, guidelines and standards (FMedG, ISO, ESHRE guidelines) • Strategic development of the laboratory as part of the overall clinic • Responsibility for quality management, documentation and audits • Budget and procurement responsibility for the laboratory sector Science and innovation • Promotion of scientific projects and clinical research • Implementation of new technologies and innovative processes • Cooperation with national and international professional societies • Presentation of research results at conferences desirable • Support for university teaching and training tasks Requirements • Completed university degree in biology, biomedicine, life sciences or related natural sciences • Comprehensive knowledge of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) • Several years of extensive and practical experience in an IVF/Andrology laboratory • Several years of management experience in an IVF/Andrology laboratory or proven suitability to assume a management function • Experience in quality management and in accredited laboratory environments • ESHRE certification as a Clinical Embryologist is beneficial • Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing • Doctorate (PhD) in reproductive biology, developmental biology, biomedicine or similar discipline is desirable Personal competences • Strong leadership and communication skills • High social competence and team orientation • Organizational strength and entrepreneurial thinking • Responsibility and high quality and service orientation • Precise, structured and independent working methods • Resilience and joy of interdisciplinary cooperation We offer: A versatile leadership position in a highly specialized and innovative field of reproductive medicine.
