The tumor documentation is part of the Clinical Program (CP) of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Zurich (CCCZ) at USZ. It creates a reliable data basis for quality assurance, certification and the further development of our oncological care. For our team, we are looking for a committed personality who combines tumor documentation with a pronounced IT affinity and participates as an interface between department, data expert and technical partners.

Your main tasks

• Tumor documentation (about 40%): You document clinical data, especially on thyroid tumors in OnkoStar and ensure their completeness and plausibility.
• Data & Digitalization (about 30%): You support the tumor center in KPI evaluations, reporting as well as in data, automation and digitalization projects.
• You take on an interface function between the team Tumor Documentation/QM, our data and IT specialist: inside and – depending on the project – other areas of IT.
• You take technical requirements from the team, structure them and support them in translating them into technically feasible questions and solutions.
• You contribute to the further development of data quality, data structures and standardized or automated processes.

Your profile

• You have medical, scientific, health or medical informatics training or a comparable qualification.
• You enjoy medical data and bring a basic medical or oncological understanding or are willing to familiarize yourself with the tumor documentation.
• You work very carefully, structured and reliable and can understand and convey professional requirements.
• You bring a strong IT affinity, move safely in different systems and enjoy developing data and processes.

Advantage

• Experience in tumor documentation, quality management or oncology
• Knowledge of OnkoStar as well as experience with clinical information systems, medical databases or data analysis
• Interest or initial knowledge in structured clinical data, data models and interfaces, e.g. FHIR or openEHR
• Experience with Excel or other tools for data preparation and evaluation
