Bastian Lerch BL/sp 13 March 2026 PUBLIC NOTICE THE MUNICIPALITY OF LOCARNO hereby announces that the competition for the appointment of a Director (30%) is open. The successful candidate will work at the Locarno Popular Music School (SPML). The holder of the position will ensure the general management of the school, ensuring administrative, educational, and strategic management, as well as operational coordination of the integration phase between the Locarno Popular Music School and the Locarno Music City. In particular, the person will be responsible for:

• coordinating the school's activities (activity planning, calendar, locations, logistics), as well as coordinating the didactic activities of the teaching staff, developing the educational offer, supervising ensemble music and educational projects;
• administratively and organizationally managing the institute (procedures, relationships, communication with families and partners).
• planning, managing, and monitoring the budget and available resources in collaboration with municipal services and any other partners;
• promoting the school and consolidating institutional relationships on the territory (schools, associations, cultural institutions);
• coordinating the integration of new educational tasks and band-related tasks;
• consolidating the offer at the regional and cantonal level;
• researching funds and establishing a network of partnerships. The start date is expected to be July 1, 2026. Required qualifications
• Bachelor in music field.
• Experience in management/coordinating functions (preferably in educational/cultural contexts).
• Organizational and management skills; leadership and team coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and public service orientation.
• Preferred title: experience in music schools and knowledge of the regional band context. 2 Remuneration The position is classified in the role of Section Head II - Director SPML in class 13 (according to the Locarno Collaborators' Organic Regulation). The salary range, for a 100% employment, starts at CHF 84,559.- and reaches a maximum of CHF 126,838.-, to which any possible allowances for children (CHF 2,580.-/CHF 3,216.-) are added.
