Tasks

• develop policies for the acquisition and development of documentary resources in collaboration with the Library Commission

• catalogue, subject and classify library books

• borrow library documents

• form the use of the library

• assist students and teachers in the use of library resources

• respond to requests for information and consultation with appropriate materials

• promote animation programs for reading and cultural activities

• participate in the programming of activities connected with the implementation of the curriculum

• to establish collaborations with external organizations (committee parents, associations working in socio-cultural, external animators, etc.)

• analyze the needs of resources and information of the school community

• eliminate aged or deteriorated documents

Requirements

• SUP specialist in information and documentation, librarian/ cantonal diploma or BBS, or equivalent title, subject to training for its obtainment or already enrolled in training

• adequate knowledge of computerized cataloguing procedures (Aleph) of librarian funds

• knowledge of information literacy and the management and development of collections

• knowledge of literature for teenagers and dissemination

• independence, sense of responsibility, reliability and precision

• ability to collaborate with teachers and design teaching activities (research, reading promotion, media literacy)

• basic knowledge of the Ticino school system

• decision-making, editorial, relational skills

• good knowledge of the Italian language and knowledge (conversation and editing) of a second official language

Special remarks

• for those who are not in possession of the qualification, the recruitment will initially take place in the form of the assignment (Article 15 and 16 of the GROSS) for the duration of a year and renewable. It will be transformed into appointment at the time of graduation. Failure to obtain the degree of study entails revocation of the assignment for the given date

Conditions of use

• appointment or assignment: these are those provided for by the Law on the sorting of employees of the State and teachers of 15 March 1995 (LORD) and the relevant Regulations. Any amendment of the law concerning salary and organization remains explicitly reserved

• working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment ratio), flexible or according to service requirements
