Role overview

The banking operations officer is responsible for the day-to-day activity, control and oversight of the BAU activity as directed by their reporting line. The role requires the candidate to support the banking operations department across numerous activities as required by their manager, to deliver high quality standards of work. This presents the opportunity to demonstrate existing knowledge, in addition to being presented with the opportunity to upskill on other areas within the department. It is critical to remain positive and proactive in this role, supporting colleagues and having a desire to increase their own knowledge and support others. Support of constant improvement initiatives and projects will be required from time to time.

- The local Banking Operation department is divided into two separate teams as detailed below: Banking & Treasury UK Domestic payments (Sterling) - Direct Debits & Standing orders - Cheque clearing - Treasury support activities - Client reporting, online banking & Debit cards - Client reporting, including valuations and mailings - Individual Savings Account controls - ISA - Client debit card support and helpline - Online banking support and helpline - Management of physical documents (mail / archives) - The successful candidate will initially join an area which makes best use of their skillset and experience, with a later consideration to crosstrain as required by the bank. - Important to support colleagues within banking operations and work with a one team approach. - Proactively manage Risks and Issues arising within the banking operations scope - Produce KPI’s for banking operations and provide periodic reporting against KPI’s for Senior Management as defined - Support the business with development of operational solutions for new products or services in conjunction with the Operational teams at Union Bancaire Privee SA - Ensure operational functions meet relevant regulatory requirements at all times - Perform all duties in accordance with the principles outlined in the UBP UK Code of Conduct, as well as the policies and procedures relevant to the role, adhering to a culture that focuses on minimising risks and delivering value - Ensure adherence to UBP Internal controls standards, systems and procedures that appropriate standards are maintained in all aspects of operational risk and compliance which are endorsed by subsequent audits. - The job description is not exhaustive and may include other duties as assigned from time to time by management.

- At least 8 years working in a similar operational role, able to demonstrate technical knowledge across banking operations. - A min of 3 years working with critical outsource/service providers. - Able to engage at all levels and build strong relationships across jurisdictions. - Proactive, positive and solutions focused.
