• Strategy and governance — involve in defining institutional development strategies and maintaining a functional relationship with the Branch
• Operational management — organize and structure teams to achieve the objectives of the cantonal service contract and the Arc network; supervise planning, training and medical-delegated acts
• Human Resources — develop an efficient, equitable and participatory HR management system: recruitment, specifications, conflict management, team dynamics
• Quality — Ensure the application of quality of care standards
• Administrative and financial management — participate in budget development, validate purchases and investments within agreed limits
• Partnerships & representation — Represent the service to professional partners and cantonal authorities

Training

• Professional title of Ambulant ES, or equivalent
• Management training in the field of health, or title deemed equivalent, or willing to do so

Experience and skills

• 5 years of professional experience as an ES ambulance
• Several years of experience managing a rescue service
• Good control of the cantonal and federal health system
• Ability to mobilize teams in participatory management
• Meaning of communication, empathy and listening
• Autonomy and initiative
• Respect for institutional values and irreproachable ethics

Your decision-making autonomy

As Head of Service, you will be responsible for fixing the salaries to the commitment, assigning salary increases and bonuses, establishing investment requests and validating the invoices and training requests.

The Ambulances of the Arc SA network provide rescue and transfer missions at three sites in the two cantons of Bern and Jura. In this context, we are looking for a Chief of Service to manage a team of about 40 people and ensure the development of the service.
