We are looking for a Laboratory Technician / Chemical Technician to join our Applications & Technologies team in Allschwil.

Main responsibilities

  • Your main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Characterization analysis using key techniques, including: gas chromatography (GC) with headspace and liquid sampling coupled to MS, FID, and TCD detectors
  • high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV and refractive index (RI) detection
  • inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES);
  • UV–Vis spectrophotometry; differential scanning calorimetry (DSC); optical microscopy; X‑ray powder diffraction (XRPD);
  • Raman spectroscopy; as well as classical methods such as titration, water content determination, density, and viscosity measurements.
  • Responsible for analytical support, ensuring the implementation and optimization of methods and operability of corresponding devices during trials (including instrument preparation, external calibration, sample preparation and routine measurements)
  • Planning, execution, evaluation and reporting of customer trials (bench scale to pilot scale).
  • Support in execution of internal and external trials for the development and optimization of Sulzer technologies;
  • Work in close co-operation with internal company stakeholders;

Key requirements

  • Diploma lab/ chemical technician (apprenticeship, technical degree)
