The veterinary service in the Office for Agriculture is responsible for the implementation of animal welfare, animal diseases and veterinary medicine legislation as well as food legislation in the field of animal husbandry and slaughter in the canton of Solothurn.
In the area of food safety, we are looking for an official assistant in meat, 80-100%, as of 01.01.2027 or by agreement at the Oensingen location. Your responsibility
Together with other official assistants, they carry out the meat inspection on the slaughter belt of Switzerland’s largest and most modern cattle slaughterhouse.

- Your responsibilities include other tasks such as hygiene controls, sampling, ante-mortem and meat inspection in small farms, etc.
- You have completed a vocational apprenticeship in the food sector, preferably as a butcher or meat specialist and ideally have the certificate of competence as an official assistant or are ready to acquire it.
- High resilience, flexibility and teamwork are among your strengths and you communicate with customers in a friendly and clear manner.
