Role overview

This position is aimed at psychologists as well as assistant physicians who are interested in further training in the field of forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy and would like to further develop their professional competences in a specialized forensic environment. Your tasks

You actively accompany patients in the treatment process, carry out psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assessments and therapies under guidance and support the diagnosis and individual treatment planning.

In the interdisciplinary exchange with psychology, medicine, nursing and social work, you contribute to a holistic and milieu-therapeutic care of patients.

Main responsibilities

  • You actively accompany patients in the treatment process, carry out psychiatric and psychotherapeutic assessments and therapies under guidance and support the diagnosis and individual treatment planning.
  • In the interdisciplinary exchange with psychology, medicine, nursing and social work, you contribute to a holistic and milieu-therapeutic care of patients.
  • With a resource-oriented and individual treatment approach, you take personal needs and tort-specific aspects into account and support the development of safe and everyday strategies.
  • You lead group therapies and actively contribute your ideas and professional impulses to the further development of the therapeutic offer.
  • As part of the forensic treatment and the associated safety requirements, you contribute to risk assessments and make an important contribution to the safety of patients and the treatment team. Requirements
  • You have completed studies in psychology or human medicine and have already gained initial professional experience in a psychiatric institution, ideally in a clinical setting.
  • Your psychotherapy training is already advanced and you want to deepen your professional knowledge in the psychiatric psychotherapeutic environment.
  • The prerequisites for a vocational training permit as an assistant psychologist or as an assistant doctor or assistant doctor of the Canton of St.Gallen are already fulfilled or can be fulfilled before taking up the job.
  • A respectful, unprejudiced and professional treatment of patients as well as a reliable cooperation with internal and external specialists characterize your way of working.
  • With the special structures and framework conditions of the implementation of measures you deal safely and maintain a professional and reflective attitude even in demanding situations.

  • You have completed studies in psychology or human medicine and have already gained initial professional experience in a psychiatric institution, ideally in a clinical setting.
  • Your psychotherapy training is already advanced and you want to deepen your professional knowledge in the psychiatric psychotherapeutic environment.
  • The prerequisites for a vocational training permit as an assistant psychologist or as an assistant doctor or assistant doctor of the Canton of St.Gallen are already fulfilled or can be fulfilled before taking up the job.

  • High commitment, self-initiative and very good knowledge of German in word and writing at at least level C1 round off your profile and enable you to secure communication in clinical everyday life.
