- Die Psychiatrischen Dienste (PD) sind mit rund 450 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter für die erweiterte psychiatrische Grundversorgung im ganzen Kanton zuständig.
- Neben den Notfall- und Krisenzentren steht ein umfassendes Abklärungs-, Therapie- und Beratungsangebot durch die Kliniken für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik und durch die Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie zur Verfügung.
- Die Behandlung wird auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse der Patientinnen und Patienten zugeschnitten und erfolgt ambulant, tagesklinisch oder stationär.
- Die Psychiatrischen Dienste decken auch die Forensische Psychiatrie im Kanton ab.
- Die Psychiatrischen Dienste sind Lehr- und Forschungsspital der Universität Basel.
