Role overview
The building construction office represents the canton as landowner in all real estate transactions and assumes the role of building owner for cantonal construction projects.
The responsible departments Planning, Construction and Management are responsible for the planning, realization of new buildings, conversions and renovations, for building maintenance (maintenance and repair) as well as for the entire building operation (technical, infrastructural, digital and commercial building management).
The Planning department is also responsible for the strategic management of the real estate portfolio and develops sustainable, economical and needs-based solutions for public infrastructure.
