- With around 450 employees, the Psychiatric Services (PD) are responsible for extended primary mental health care throughout the canton.
- In addition to the emergency and crisis centres, a comprehensive range of information, therapy and counselling is available from the clinics for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics (KPPP) and child and adolescent psychiatry (KJP).
- The treatment is tailored to the individual needs of the patients and takes place on an outpatient, daily clinical or inpatient basis.
- The PD also covers forensic psychiatry in the canton and cooperates in teaching and research with the universities of Bern and Basel.
