  • Acquisition and deepening of expertise in the care, care and monitoring of intensive care patients.
  • Share responsibility for professional action in acute, complex and rapidly changing situations.
  • Continuous competence building through the change between theoretical teaching at the Pflege Bern Education Centre and practical work at the Interlaken Hospital.
  • Intensification of intensive care skills during one semester in the intensive care unit of the Hirslanden Klinik Beau Site with focus on operational areas, in particular cardiac surgery.
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation as well as linking nursing expertise with medical therapy concepts.
  • Active participation in clinical decision-making processes and patient-oriented care.
  • Holistic care also for severely ill patients taking into account their individual needs and quality of life.
  • Accompaniment, advice and support of relatives in demanding treatment situations.
