- With around 450 employees, the Psychiatric Services (PD) are responsible for extended primary mental health care throughout the canton.
- In addition to the emergency and crisis centres, a comprehensive range of information, therapy and counselling services is available from the clinics for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics (KPPP) and child and adolescent psychiatry (KJP).
- The treatment is tailored to the individual needs of the patient and is carried out on an outpatient, daily clinic or inpatient basis.
- The PD also covers forensic psychiatry in the canton and cooperates in teaching and research with the universities of Bern and Basel.
- The KPPP treat mentally ill people in the entire canton of Solothurn across the entire spectrum of psychiatric diseases.
- They have a wide range of psychiatric-psychotherapeutic services consisting of several treatment centers including old-age psychiatry and dependency disorders including outpatient centers with opioid agonist therapy as well as a consultancy and liaison service and participation in the interdisciplinary sleep medicine center (ISZ) of the soH.
- In addition, there is an ambulatory and semi-stationary service, including day clinics, at the locations Solothurn and Olten, both for younger adults and for patients: women over 65 years old.
- In Grenchen, the KPPPs have an ambulatorium.
