- Ideally, in-depth experience in a field relevant to paediatric palliative care, e.g. neuropediatric/rehabilitation, paediatric oncology, intensive care or complex outpatient long-term care
Main responsibilities
- Medical care for children and adolescents with complex, chronic and life-limiting diseases in the inpatient and outpatient setting
- Interprofessional Paediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT)
- Palliative care, symptom control and support in complex disease and crisis situations
- Counselling and support of patients and families on medical, psychosocial and ethical issues
- Close cooperation with the specialist disciplines at the OKS as well as with paediatricians, paediatricians, therapies and other network partners
- Participation in mobile care with home visits
- Participation in the PACT 24/7 medical background service
- Cooperation in the further development of specialised paediatric palliative care at the OKS
Key requirements
- Specialist title Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and clinical experience in the care of children and adolescents with complex diseases
- Ideally, in-depth experience in a field relevant to paediatric palliative care, e.g. neuropediatric/rehabilitation, paediatric oncology, intensive care or complex outpatient long-term care
- High level of clinical independence and safety in dealing with complex disease and crisis situations
- Interest in paediatric palliative care and readiness for further education or the acquisition of the interdisciplinary focus on palliative care
- Enjoyment of interprofessional and interdisciplinary cooperation
- Strong communication skills and an appreciative, family-centered approach
- Willingness to participate in PACT medical background service
