You support site managers and executives in anchoring safety and health as an integral part of their daily leadership work. You can do that.
- You identify and evaluate hazards, risks as well as uncertain conditions and actions and derive effective prevention measures from them.
- You implement central health and safety standards at the supervised locations, make local deviations visible and support the harmonization between the plants.
- You advise, coach and empower site managers and managers so that they effectively assume their responsibility for safety and health in everyday work.
- You analyze accident events, near miss and recurring patterns, derive appropriate measures and check their effectiveness.
- You assess work-related health and stress factors, such as ergonomics, physical stress and influences of the work environment.
- You will conduct H&S inspections, audits and reviews, support risk assessments and root cause analysis, and plan training, instructions and prevention actions.
- You introduce health and safety requirements at the interfaces to HR/BGM, engineering, facility management, sustainability and production and ensure the consistent follow-up of agreed measures.
You bring that with you
- You have experience in industrial production and understand the challenges of an operational environment, ideally also in shift operations.
- You bring a recognized qualification as a specialist: in occupational safety according to the ASA directive, at least as a safety specialist or specialist: in ASGS. Alternatively, you are ready and suitable to acquire this qualification within 24 months of assuming office.
- You convince people, create commitment and move sustainable changes even without direct authority.
- You act demandingly and supportively towards managers at the same time and strengthen Health & Safety as a leadership task.
- You think analytically, identify risks, causes, patterns and trends and consistently keep an eye on the implementation and effectiveness of the derived measures.
- You have a broad understanding of occupational safety and health protection, such as hazardous substances, fire, gas and explosion protection, emergency management, legal compliance and work-related burdens.
- You communicate in German in a negotiable and addressable manner, build up sustainable networks and clearly address security-critical topics.

Questions about this listing
What salary does Emmi offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Emmen is CHF 96'000 - 146'000 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by Emmi. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.
Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does Emmi offer?
This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with Emmi during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Lucerne?
EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Lucerne can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Lucerne's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
