The service area Social and Peer Counselling provides comprehensive support for the paraplegic in all regions of the country. The consultations take place at our location in Nottwil, partly in clinics, at the clients’ home or by telephone. We advise on questions regarding social insurance, finances, housing situation, employment or personal topics.

To support our Social Work team, we are looking for an empathetic and professionally experienced personality.

These are your tasks

• (psychosocial) counselling and support for people with paraplegia or cross-sectional diagnoses and their relatives
• Clarification of social security entitlements and provision of needs-based support
• Assistance in the preparation and submission of applications to social insurance and foundations
• Participation in securing the economic livelihood of clients
• Accompaniment in challenging life situations and change processes (e.g. professional reorientation, separation, transition to AHV age)
• Promoting the independence and personal responsibility of clients
• Interdisciplinary cooperation with involved bodies and partner organisations
• Writing specialist articles for your own media

• You have completed training in social work FH/BSC with appropriate professional experience,
• You bring in-depth knowledge in the field of social insurance.
• You design your work flexibly and independently – also in the private setting at your clients at home.
• You like to bring your knowledge and experience into projects.

About us

Founded in 1980, the Swiss Paraplegic Association (SPV) is the national umbrella organisation of the paraplegic cross-section with around 11,000 members. It promotes, represents and coordinates the concerns of para- and quadriplegics and other members throughout Switzerland. It also supports 27 regional wheelchair clubs throughout Switzerland. The approximately 80 permanent employees and 170 employees working as freelancers as well as more than 2,000 volunteers and volunteers are committed to the social, social, political and personal concerns of the members and are committed to their reintegration and to improving the quality of life. The services offered include the Institute for Legal Advice, Wheelchair Sports and Leisure (promotion of top and grassroots sports, as well as its own travel agency), the Centre for Obstacle-Free Building and that of the Life Counselling Division. The SPV also publishes the member magazine Paracontact and two newsletters.
