The world of medical coding fascinates you, and you want to use your knowledge? In collaboration with our team of experienced coders and coders based in Lucerne, you check the accuracy of stationary services according to the standard CIM and CHOP classifications for all medical fields. Together, we continuously develop coding control and establish new references to innovation and quality. At home, you have the opportunity to actively contribute to the construction of the future of medical coding. This job is talking to you? So we look forward to meeting you!
Your mission
- The heart of the subject: you check the stationary services for Swiss German establishments in all specialized fields and, thanks to your expertise, you guarantee a correct count.
- You detect potentially incorrect coding using modern systems and report them in the form of clear and concise remarks.
- You are actively involved in the development and optimization of our regulations regarding partially automated coding control.
- You keep in mind the regulatory and tariff provisions, analyse trends and develop innovative measures on this basis.
- For you, team spirit is self-evident: you encourage exchanges and contribute to the continuous improvement of our team through your experiences and ideas.
What you bring
- Let's start with the basics: you have initial medical training or care, which serves as a solid foundation.
- You have also completed ongoing training in medical coding and professional experience in this area.
- You have strong knowledge of the Swiss health care system
- Experience in health or social insurance is a great advantage.
- You communicate safely and neatly in German, both oral and written. You also have good knowledge of French.
- You approach existing processes with a critical eye, submit your own ideas and actively participate in changes.
- Work flexibly: Adapts your work every year to your lifestyle, with opportunities for part time and other flexible models such as telework, to name but one.
- Choose your holiday model: Five or six weeks of vacation? You choose. You work 41 or 42 hours a week, respectively.
- Keep the form: ergonomic work places, promotion of psychic well-being and many other offers related to health.
- Engage in social matters: Is life good for you? So make others enjoy it and broaden your horizons, alone or as a team.
- Take time for your infant: three weeks for fathers, up to twenty weeks for mothers. There are also generous child allowances and training.
- Holiday with us: Work in concentration, then celebrate in uncontraction. We like this combination and apply it regularly.

Questions about this listing
What salary does CSS Versicherung offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Luzern is CHF 69'500 - 106'000 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by CSS Versicherung. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.
Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does CSS Versicherung offer?
This listing is a part-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with CSS Versicherung during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Lucerne?
EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Lucerne can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Lucerne's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
How do I apply for this position at CSS Versicherung?
