The civil engineering office is responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the cantonal roads as well as the hydraulic engineering and slow transport in Graubünden. We also take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads on the cantonal territory. The canton’s road infrastructure comprises over 1,450 art buildings, including bridges at airy heights of up to 90 meters and tunnels of up to 3 kilometers in length. The challenges that the nature of our mountain canton brings in summer and winter make our work challenging and versatile. We are looking for the road maintenance department in district 6 Ilanz per 1. March 2027 or by arrangement a manager in the district civil engineering office

Tasks

• Overall responsibility for the operational, personnel and strategic management of the district civil engineering office with about 50 employees who work decentrally in various bases
• Responsible for the operational and structural maintenance of the cantonal roads and the expansion of the connecting roads
• Leadership, promotion and further development of employees as well as ensuring a service-oriented administrative culture
• Representation of the civil engineering office in the district as well as coordination and cooperation with municipalities, cantonal authorities, engineering offices, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the district

Requirements

• Completed technical studies, master builders’ or comparable training in civil engineering, civil engineering or related disciplines
• Several years of professional and managerial experience, ideally in public administration, civil engineering or an infrastructural environment
• Strong leader with high social skills, integrity and assertiveness
• Ability to motivate employees, develop teams and live an appreciative leadership culture
• Negotiation skills and experience in dealing with different stakeholders
• Secure appearance and stylish oral and written communication in German
• Good Romance skills are beneficial
