For our book publisher with its editions Somedia, Terra Grischuna, Rüegger and Montabella in Glarus or Chur we are looking for 1. December 2026 or by agreement a publishing director (80-100%). What You Expect The publishing director has overall responsibility for the programmatic, organizational and economic management of the publishing house with several editions. This includes ensuring a high-quality, market-driven and economically successful publishing program.

• Development and implementation of the publishing strategy
• Acquisition and support of book projects from idea to publication
• Codecision on programme launches and publications
• Ensuring compliance with quality, deadlines and costs
• Building and maintaining relationships with authors and publishers
• Coordination of external service providers (editing, graphics, sentence, printing, translation)
• Maintaining cooperation with cultural, regional and institutional partners
• Development and implementation of sales and marketing measures
• Maintaining contacts with booksellers, media and other sales partners
• Observation of market, competition and industry trends
• Continuous review and optimization of processes and structures
• Budget planning and budget control

What you bring

• Experience in publishing, preferably in book publishing
• High affinity for books, culture and regional topics
• Commercial knowledge and business understanding
• Experience in project management and production processes
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Entrepreneurial thinking and action
• Independent, structured and self-responsible working method
