Full description
Your team
Pictet Tech designs, builds, and operates the technology that underpins the Group’s core activities, from portfolio management and trading to banking services. Within Data Platforms, our ambition is to build a modern, resilient, and scalable data foundation across the Group. We are transforming our technology landscape by combining cloud and on-premise strengths, modernizing how data is stored, processed, integrated, and distributed, and raising engineering standards across all domains. You will join a team at the centre of this transformation, helping turn complex challenges into secure, reliable, and high-performing capabilities that enable teams to deliver faster and with greater confidence. As a Technical Architect, you will drive the cloud transformation of the Group’s data platforms. You will define hybrid target architectures and lead the migration of data, processing workloads, and data flows from on-premise environments to the cloud, balancing innovation with security, resilience, and operational continuity. Working closely with domain leads, you will turn strategy into clear technology choices and pragmatic roadmaps, accelerating the shift from legacy platforms to modern cloud-native services. You will also act as a senior engineering leader across data domains, solving complex challenges, guiding critical technical decisions, and raising engineering standards. Your role is to strengthen teams and ensure the delivery of scalable, maintainable, and operationally robust solutions.
Your role
- Shape ambitious hybrid and cloud architectures with domain leads, while keeping clear ownership of decisions and delivery.
- Guide migration strategies for on-premise databases, processing workloads, and data flows to the cloud, with strong standards for security, resilience, performance, operability, and cost efficiency.
- Define reusable patterns for data integration and processing across APIs, batch, CDC, streaming, and messaging.
- Provide hands-on support to solve complex issues, validate architecture choices, and build reference implementations teams can own.
- Lead by example through coding, design reviews, automation, and troubleshooting to raise standards and strengthen team capability.
- Ensure solutions meet high architectural and operational standards for automation, observability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Your profile
- Strong experience in software, platform, cloud or reliability engineering, or technical architecture, delivering complex production systems.
- Hands-on skills in software design, coding, automation, testing, CI/CD, observability, and troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, reliability, and performance.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, turn ambiguity into pragmatic solutions, and build proofs of concept when needed.
- Strong public cloud experience; hands-on AWS is a clear advantage.
- Recognised technical leadership, with the ability to set standards, challenge constructively, lead by example, and support senior engineers and domain leads.
- Strong architectural judgement and communication skills, with the ability to influence engineers and senior stakeholders.
- Curious, pragmatic, and improvement-driven, with a focus on simple, scalable, maintainable, and robust solutions.
- Fluent in French and English, written and spoken.
- Swiss resident or willing and able to relocate.

Questions about this listing
What salary does Pictet Group offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Geneva is CHF 71'000 - 107'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by Pictet Group. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.
Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does Pictet Group offer?
This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with Pictet Group during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Geneva?
EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Geneva can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Geneva's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
