Main responsibilities
- Work independently under the guidance of senior Data Engineering Console engineers.
- Help us accelerate the workflows of Google employees as they create, deploy and debug business-critical systems for Gemini model training, YouTube, Ads, Search and Artificial Intelligence (AI) research.
- Ensure peta-scale data processing systems and the agents that operate on them are observable by engineers and researchers, while extending our extensive telemetry-gathering connectors to be accessible and scalable in an agent-first world.
- Help to pivot the Data Engineering Console to an agent-first world, while supporting Google employees as they manage peta-scale data flows for everything from Gemini model training to Ads business tracking and YouTube video analysis, with a healthy dose of Waymo self-driving built-in.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- Experience in system design.
- Experience in C++.
