The Position The Opportunity You will be an expert in the hardware and software integration activities for a next generation sequencing platform. You will be a technical contributor and lead on long-term, complex and novel projects that require ingenuity, creativity and technical expertise. You are someone who does not shy away from a difficult problem, but seeks it out. You must be comfortable developing complex tools to aid in the characterization and operation of the sequencing platform using python or another rapid prototype language. You must be organized, detail oriented, and self motivated. Below are the responsibilities of this role: • Systems Integration & Characterization: Lead the end-to-end integration of hardware and software, focusing on the characterization of component interactions and overall sequencing platform performance. • Test Methodology Development: Design and implement comprehensive testing frameworks, including metrology tools, modular object-oriented software, and data management systems. • Performance Analysis: Execute detailed experiments to measure and optimize system parameters such as accuracy, reliability, and repeatability, including high-speed data path troubleshooting. • Physics-Based Problem Solving: Apply a deep understanding of system physics and assay performance to conduct root cause analysis and solve complex technical challenges. • Strategic Leadership: Drive cross-functional projects independently, providing creative solutions and technical guidance to engineering teams
