To support this ambition in Valais, we are looking for a Project Outreach/Public Engagement Coordinator (50%) responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing projects that make science accessible, encourage public participation and create opportunities for exchange around major contemporary scientific and technological issues.

- Design, plan and pilot public engagement projects that promote science-society dialogue, such as lecture cycles, art-science initiatives or other public events.
Main responsibilities
- Main tasks and responsibilities
- Design, plan and pilot public engagement projects that promote science-society dialogue, such as lecture cycles, art-science initiatives or other public events.
- Ensure operational monitoring of projects, including the management of schedules, budgets, logistics, stakeholders and partners, as well as the organisation and facilitation of project meetings.
- Coordinate public engagement initiatives in Valais to enhance coherence, visibility and impact.
Company and context
- Support EPFL Valais Wallis laboratories in the design and implementation of their public engagement activities, and support the Science Promotion Service in the organization of the Valais edition of the Scientastic festival.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of EPFL's public engagement strategy in Valais, in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Identify, develop and maintain collaborations with external actors of the Valais territory in order to foster synergies between science and society.
- Monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of activities to enhance quality, scope and impact. Profile
- Scientific or technical training, or professional experience demonstrating a good understanding of the academic and research world. A knowledge of EPFL Valais Wallis' areas of excellence is an asset.
- Experience and interest in science-society interactions and public engagement approaches.
- Experience in coordinating projects and events involving a diversity of stakeholders, ideally in an academic, scientific, or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of the Valais ecosystem and ability to identify opportunities for collaboration and develop local partnerships.
- Excellent relational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse interlocutors and to evolve independently in a decentralized environment.
- Proposal strength and capacity to develop and implement new initiatives.
