The Department of Medicine (DMED) provides comprehensive and specialized care for patients in hospitals and outpatients. Driven by a holistic, human approach based on best medical practices, it offers reference care in many specialties (cardiology, gastroenterology, pneumology, angiology and nephrology), with 24/7 availability. Engaged in clinical excellence, teaching and research, DMED promotes innovation, continuous skill development and patient-centred care, while ensuring the quality of life at work and the efficiency of benefits. Within this department, the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension provides diagnostic and therapeutic non-surgical care to adult patients with renal disorders, taking into account the services provided by other HUG services. This position is newly created and is part of the ALTER deployment, which aims to ensure that work organization complies with the Labour Act (LTr).

Description of post

As a Head or Head of Clinic who holds a degree as a specialist in nephrology, you provide clinical activities in turn in outpatient nephrology, hospital, hypertension, dialysis or transplantation. You demonstrate resilience, clinical sense and a high analytical capacity in dealing with sometimes complex situations. Thanks to your sense of organization and your ability to prioritize, you effectively ensure your clinical activities while responding to multiple demands (patients, telephones, correspondence, meetings). You are in a demanding environment, at the interface of care, teaching and research. As such, you work closely with the entire medical team and ensure clear, fluid and respectful communication with your colleagues and patients, adapting your speech to their understanding. Building on your team spirit, you show solidarity with the unexpected. As head or head of clinic, you are actively involved in the supervision and training of internal doctors in the department of medicine in the field of nephrology and hypertension, adopting a mentoring posture and sharing your expertise. You have a front line activity. You ensure the teaching activities in the field of nephrology (AMC, Forum, UIDC, APP, exams, trainees).

Qualifications

You have a federal doctor's degree or training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).

You are entitled to an FMH title in nephrology or you have an equivalent title recognised by MEBEKO and are in possession of the cantonal right of practice or are able to obtain it before you enter office with the cantonal doctor of Geneva. You justify a confirmed experience in general nephrology and in patients with dialysis that allows you to be autonomous. A significant transplant experience or interest in the field is an asset for the position. As part of this position, you want to strengthen your expertise in a renowned university centre for one to two years. For non-French speakers, the French level C1 on the spoken and written test is required.

You have excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with the patient, you are a dynamic, flexible, committed and discreet person. In addition, you have demonstrated strong adaptability and team spirit and solidarity with the team member.
